BESCHREIBUNG
Mitte der 50er Jahre erkannte man, dass Säugetierzellen neben den zehn essentiellen Aminosäuren auch Cystin, Tyrosin und Glutamin benötigen. Neben diesen drei Aminosäuren enthält die Formulierung des BME auch B-Vitamine. Ursprünglich gedacht für die Kultivierung von Maus-L-Zellen und Hela-Zellen, findet BME heute mit seinen vielen Variationen weite Verbreitung. Neben der Kultivierung von normalen Säugetierzellen eignet sich das BME auch sehr gut für transformierte Zellen.
